Arty’s Priorities

Arty’s Priorities for Saint John

Local Economy & Small Business

Saint John grows when local businesses grow. Arty will work to remove unnecessary barriers and create an environment where entrepreneurs and workers can succeed.  •Reduce red tape for small businesses

•Support job creation and local investment

•Encourage responsible economic growth

Infrastructure That Works

Saint John deserves reliable infrastructure and well-maintained public services that support residents, businesses, and long-term growth. Arty believes responsible planning and smart investment are essential to keeping our city running safely and efficiently.
• Invest in maintaining roads, sidewalks, and public infrastructure

• Ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly and transparently

Housing That Works

Families should be able to build their lives in Saint John. Arty will advocate for responsible development and policies that increase the availability of attainable housing options.

•Expand housing availability

•Support balanced, responsible development

•Protect long-term neighbourhood stability

•Work with community groups to protect neighbourhood character

•Ensure growth does not outpace infrastructure capacity

•Support balanced neighborhood growth

 •Support affordable housing options

Addressing Homelessness, Addiction, and Community Safety

•Saint John, like many communities across Canada, is facing serious challenges with homelessness and addiction. These issues impact individuals, families, neighbourhoods, and local businesses, and they require practical solutions rooted in both compassion and accountability.

•No one should be living in unsafe conditions. Across the city, too many lives have been lost to tent fires, overdoses, and dangerous situations. People deserve safety, dignity, and real pathways toward stability.

•Solving these challenges requires cooperation. Municipal government must work closely with the Province, the Federal Government, frontline organizations, and community partners to ensure resources are coordinated, and support systems are strengthened.

•Saint John is fortunate to have dedicated nonprofits and outreach workers already doing important work. City leadership should support and strengthen these efforts by encouraging collaboration, advocating resources, and backing initiatives that move people toward safety, recovery, and long-term stability.

•Saint John can address these challenges with clear leadership, responsible planning, and a commitment to protecting both vulnerable residents and the broader community. Saint John should be a city where families choose to live, work, and build their lives, and where businesses feel confident investing. When our community grows, it strengthens our tax base and helps fund roads, public safety, parks, and the services residents rely on without adding pressure to existing taxpayers.

Arthur Watson
Resilience. Responsibility. Service.

Built by Saint John.

Arthur Watson is a lifelong Saint John resident and the founder of Rocky Shores Clothing a brand inspired by the resilience of the Atlantic coast.

Rocky Shores was never just clothing. It was a reflection of strength through adversity a belief that hardship shapes character and that steady growth comes from perseverance.

That same resilience defines Arthur’s leadership. His journey taught him discipline, responsibility, and the importance of standing firm when it matters most. Now, he brings those values to City Council focused not on recognition, but on service.

“Rocky Shores represents endurance" the same strength Arthur now brings to public service.

Forward for Saint John

Arthur isn’t running to tell his story he’s running to serve his city.

He believes Saint John’s best days are ahead, but only with leadership grounded in responsibility and action. His focus is clear: Safer neighbourhoods, smart growth, and accountable decisions at City Hall.

Resilience built his character. Service defines his purpose.

Saint John deserves both.

Forged in Adversity

Rocky Shores was inspired by the Atlantic coastline steady, unshaken, shaped by pressure. For Arthur, that wasn’t just branding. It was lived experience.

Through hardship, he learned discipline. Through resilience, he built character. Those lessons shaped not only the man he became, but the standard he holds himself to today: show up, stand firm, and do the work.

Strength, for Arthur, has never been loud. It has always been steady.

Vote for Arty.
A Safer, More Prosperous Saint John.

Steady leadership. Responsible decisions. Real progress.

Built by this city and shaped by experience, Arty is ready to serve with focus and accountability. Saint John deserves leadership grounded in action not noise.

Leadership Begins With Listening

"One of the most valuable things I’ve learned from being out in the community is the importance of listening.

Over the past few years, I’ve spent time speaking with residents across Saint John at doorsteps, community events, local businesses, and neighbourhood gatherings.

Those conversations matter.

People shared their concerns about housing, neighbourhood safety, local businesses, infrastructure, and the future of our city.

And what stood out most was this: people care deeply about Saint John, and they want leadership that listens and works with them to move the city forward.

Those conversations helped shape the priorities you see in this campaign.

Because good leadership doesn’t start at City Hall.

It starts by listening to the people who call this city home."-Arthur Watson

"Arty understands what it takes to build something real. He's not interested in empty promises he shows up and does the work."
